I am lucky enough to be returning to Northern Sardinia in two weeks time. I will be returning to the work away host that I spent 5 weeks with earlier this year. I haven’t decided how long I would be staying, but I expect for the majority of the harvest. I am looking forward to spending time with the host, friends, the community in the village and the animals. I hope to get my Italian to a proficient level and start to form conversations with the locals. Sardinian people speak a very clean, un-accented version of Italian which helps when learning. I can’t wait to learn the process of wine making and to taste the unrivaled wine, which has made all wine available in the UK taste artificial and unfit for consumption. The island has been calling be back for some time, I hope to explore the beauty and the ancient nuraghes scattered across Sardinia.
My plans following Sardinia haven’t been decided on, I’m waiting for the next inspiration to hit me. I am intrigued by eastern Europe, especially Hungary for reasons unknown to me, but I’m sure will become clear. I want to return to India, but don’t have the financial means to make such a trip this year, but I have vowed to return one day. A trip to the great pyramid is high on my priorities but again that will be quite costly. I’m starting to think I need to get another job soon but I am searching for something meaningful, I can’t go back to an office yet.
One of my goals for the rest of the year is to write frequent updates on this page, predominantly for me to track my progress and express my thoughts.
